MOS Exam Hints and info on exam length

Hi Morgan - In answer to your question about how long the MOS tests are: I just took the newest version of Word and Excel at our Lakewood Ranch campus in March. The tests were about 50 minutes in length. There were about 20 questions for each test. Almost every question was a two part question, so in essence each test was about 40 items long to be completed in about 50 minutes.

The tests give you a chance to SKIP a question and come back to it later on. This can be a BIG MISTAKE. In my case I had gotten the first part of several questions correct, but the second part of those questions temporarily stumped me, so I choose to skip the second part for later. But the problem was, that when I came back to them, I had to redo the first part that I got correct, and it took up so much time redoing things, that I ran out of time. I passed, but my score was much lower than it could have been. So my suggestion is: IF YOU GET THE FIRST PART OF A QUESTION CORRECT, AND THE SECOND PART STUMPS YOU - BLOW IT OFF AND FORGET ABOUT THE SECOND PART SO THAT YOU CAN GET CREDIT FOR WHAT YOU DID CORRECTLY.

Remember - MyITlab has sample MOS test that can be found under the course content tab.
Click the Course Content tab, choose View All Content and scroll down to MOS Certification Practice Exams.

You usually get a free retake. So do not sweat it if you fail the first time. As soon as you finish the exam, write down the items that stumped you and study them and take it again.
